Mir haba!

I thought it would be nice for my school to have a Turkish language assistant so I very hurriedly applied for one last week.  The deadline was Friday.  If we are lucky enough to have the application accepted I will have someone to teach Turkish to our students, and me!

Silvia, could you please mail me the document we used during our work in Istanbul? It will make a great difference for us! Hope you are all doing well.

Blog

I have invited the partners to become authors and contribute to this blog.  However, I do not have the email adresses of Sandra or Susan.  If you have them please send them to me so that I can add them as authors.  Back at school I have written a piece about our project for the staff bulletin and put the blog address on it so I hope we will get some comments over the coming months. I hope you have all recovered from the travelling and Gus and Susan not working too hard.

Photos from Istanbul

Preliminary visit to Turkey

The five countries involved in the preliminary visit are UK, France, Holland, Spain and Turkey. Turkey were the hosts and representatives of the 5 schools met in Istanbul on the 19th of January and completed the meeting on the 23rd of January. We got through a lot of work and worked well together as a team. Many thanks to our hosts for their warm welcome and hospitality. The next weeks will be spent finalising the bid to reach the deadline for funding on the 20th of February.
The product of the project will be a virtual book in which each country will have a chapter about their own county created by students. Students will be able take part in a voyage around the 5 countries via the book expreiencing the five senses in each country. Various activities will be held in each country and a programme of visits to the countries for small groups of students accompanied by teachers will be arranged. It is hoped that through this project we will raise an awareness of global citizenship with our students.
More details of the project will be posted soon and photos of the visit.
